New ministers for West Yorkshire church

Friends at Blackley Baptist Church in Elland (West Yorkshire) are delighted to announce that the Revd Andy Williams and the Revd Joanna (Jo) Williams have answered the call to become joint ministers

Andy and Jo are currently joint ministers at Sion Baptist Church in Burnley where they have taken on various roles over about 18 years.

Church secretary Guy Hirst said, 'As well as their work as pastors  - Andy is particularly skilled in fostering good interfaith relations, working part-time for Faith Network for Manchester, while also being the moderator of the Baptist Union Inter Faith Working Group.

'Jo is a mediator and trainer in Conflict Transformation, delivering church and community interventions with many commitments in training across the country.'

Guy says the couple’s primary commitment will be as ministers but the Blackley Centre will enable them to pursue their other work.

The couple’s induction will take place on Saturday, 22 October at 3pm and the service will be followed by refreshments.
