The Esther Collective to launch in Sheffield

The Esther Collective – a leadership and discipleship initiative for women aged 18-30s – is launching in Sheffield in February 2017

Run in partnership with the Sheffield Methodist District, the initiative events will be held at Handsworth Methodist Church in Sheffield from February to May 2017, with the fifth and final event taking place at Cliff College, Derbyshire, in July 2017.

Established by Girls’ Brigade Ministries in 2014, The Esther Collective is an opportunity for women aged 18-30s to be part of a community of women who are discovering and exploring their God-given identity and purpose ‘for such a time as this’ (Esther Ch.4:14).

The Esther Collective includes five gatherings over six months, where the women come together to worship, hear from an inspiring woman role model, and be equipped in their different giftings. Participants also receive access to a jam-packed and practical online hub, as well as encouragement, support and advice in reading the Bible in a year and finding a mentor.

Megan, who was part of The Esther Collective in Huddersfield in 2015, says ‘It was freeing to realise that my skills, personality and passions are really all interconnected and related to God’s purpose for me… Freeing and empowering is how I’d describe the whole thing.’

Beth, also part of The Esther Collective Huddersfield, says ‘The Esther Collective has come at a crucial time in my life where there’s been a lot of change, and I’ve been unsure of my faith. It’s helped me to explore what being a Christian means to me.’
 

Joining The Esther Collective costs £250, and various subsidies are available for members of the Girls’ Brigade England & Wales, and those from local Methodist or Yorkshire Baptist Association churches.
