Stalham Baptists launch community magazine

Community Scene is a brand-new community magazine and website published by Stalham Baptist Church, containing church and community news. Tony Rothe reports.

StalhamThe editorial team plans to produce three magazines a year, Easter, Harvest and Christmas, but the latest news from Stalham Baptists and from the village will always be available in the online magazine on the website.

'The aim is to get news about the church and wider Christian issues wrapped up with local news,' said David Child, magazine editor, 'The printed magazine has Stalham Baptist Church (SBC) content alongside community news and plenty of pictures. The printed copy is being delivered to 1550 homes and a further 150 placed strategically.

'The website will have more local news - I have spoken to many people that want to use the service and we will link stories about SBC with the news items. We also want to get involvement across the gender range. We are lucky that in the congregation is Steve English a professional cartoonist and Greg Chapman who has much experience of producing websites. With myself we have a good team

'I suspect like most things the original vision is only a starting place; We believe it will evolve and take us on a journey of hopefully bringing more people to Jesus.'

The editorial team is keen to receive all articles, pictures, and news items from the village.
